Graduate Horizons by the Refugee-Led Research Hub is a global application support program tailored to prospective students affected by displacement. If you’re considering pursuing a master’s or PhD program at the University of Oxford or other universities worldwide, with courses set to begin in September/October 2024, and you’re seeking personalized mentorship during the application process, read on.

Program Overview:

Graduate Horizons caters to students who have recently completed their bachelor’s degrees or are on the cusp of graduation. If you have a strong desire to apply for master’s or PhD programs commencing in late 2024, whether at the University of Oxford or universities worldwide, this program is designed for you. If you are selected, you’ll receive one-on-one guidance from a current graduate student or an Oxford alumnus who will:

• Assist you in exploring available graduate courses and navigating application procedures at Oxford and other institutions.
• Guide you through scholarship application processes for which you may be eligible.
• Provide valuable feedback on the documents you prepare for submission as part of your graduate program and scholarship applications.

Workshops and Timelines:

As a Graduate Horizons participant, you’ll engage in a series of workshops covering critical topics, including selecting the right university and degree, crafting persuasive personal statements, and creating CVs and other essential documents. These workshops will run from October to November 2023.

Program: Graduate Horizons

Location: Online (participants can join from anywhere in the world)

Program Duration: 4 months (from October 2023 to January 2024, with potential for extended mentorship)

Number of Slots: 60 individuals will be chosen for 1:1 mentorship, and additional places for workshops and information sessions are available.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for Graduate Horizons by the Refugee-Led Research Hub, applicants must:

• Have lived experience of forced displacement (e.g., as a current/former refugee, asylum seeker, IDP, stateless person, or another category).
• Hold a BA degree in any field with a strong result (typically equivalent to at least a 2:1 or a 3.5+ GPA). Note that support is also available for candidates in the Social Sciences and Humanities, including disciplines like International Relations, International Development, Politics, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, History, Law, Literature, etc.
• Possess the ability to conduct research in English.
• Plan to apply for a graduate program commencing in the 2024-2025 academic year.
• Complete all sections of the application form following provided instructions.
