The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) is a prestigious scholarship program that attracts and retains world-class doctoral students to Canada. The Vanier CGS program awards scholarships value at $50,000 per year for three years to students who demonstrate both leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement.

•The Vanier CGS program accepts nominations from Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, and foreign citizens.
•Applicants must be pursuing their first doctoral degree (or combined MA/PhD or MD/PhD) in health research, natural sciences and/or engineering research, or social sciences and/or humanities research.
•must have completed no more than 20 months of doctoral studies as of May 1, 2024.
Applicants must have achieved a first-class average in each of the last two years of full-time study.
Application Process:
•be nominated by a Canadian institution with a Vanier CGS quota.
Students should prepare to submit applications to the nominating institution by their internal deadline using the ResearchNet application system.
The nominating institution then forwards recommended nominations to the Vanier-Banting Secretariat by November 1, 2023.
