Requirements:
- All candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Nationality: Hold nationality in a country outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Surinam and meet the visa and residence permit requirements for the Netherlands.
- Double Nationality: Do not hold double nationality from an EU/EEA country.
- Admission: Applied for admission to a participating full-time master programme at Maastricht University for the 2024-2025 academic year.
- Specific Admission Requirements: Meet the specific admission requirements of the UM master programme applied to.
- Previous Education: Have never participated in a degree-seeking higher education programme in the Netherlands. Students with completed exchange programmes in the Netherlands can apply.
- Age: Not older than 35 years of age on September 1, 2024.
- Academic Excellence: Obtain excellent results during prior education, demonstrated by the latest grade transcript or certified by academic excellence. Preference given to applicants in the top 5% of scholarship programme applicants.
Scholarship Duration:
The Scholarship programme offers 24 full scholarships of €30,000 (including tuition fee waiver and monthly stipend) each academic year:
13 months for a one-year master programme
25 months for a two-year master programme
Required Documents:
To apply, candidates must submit the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae: Up-to-date, relevant information about education and experience, not exceeding two A4 pages.
- Letter of Motivation: Use the provided template, focusing on motivation for the scholarship.
- Proof of Academic Excellence: University transcript stating GPA or class ranking OR a letter from Head of Department or Registrar stating top 20 students in graduating year.
- Personal Statement of Financial Needs: Explain why you would benefit from the scholarship and describe personal circumstances such as financial difficulty, caretaking responsibilities, medical condition, disability, refugee status, etc.
- Reference Letter: Referees must be (former) professors, lecturers, or employers (not family members). Letters should be dated and written no earlier than February 2023.
- Contact Details of One Referee: Work telephone number and work/institutional email address.
- Ensure referees meet authenticity criteria and provide relationship details, work telephone number with the country calling code, and work/institutional email address.
