The Axel Adler Scholarship is the University of Gothenburg main scholarship programme for fee-paying students pursuing eligible Master’s programmes at the University.

Any full-time Master’s programmes offered at the University, including the Bachelor’s programme (only Software Engineering, International Relations and Business and Economics).
Number of Scholarships:
One scholarship is awarded for each programme, and four for Master’s programmes within the Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, and programmes in Music and Performance.
There are also two Axel Adler scholarships for Sustainability 2024 for students studying a sustainability-focused study programme.

Citizens from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland
Scholarship Benefits:
Scholarships cover the tuition fee of the programme you are admitted to. It is a tuition fee waiver only; no additional financial support for living expenses or travel grants is provided.
Eligibility:
You are eligible to apply for the scholarship if you meet the criteria listed below:
- required to pay tuition in Sweden.
- You need to apply for an international campus-based programme at the University of Gothenburg, as your first priority.
- apply/ admitted to a full-time Master programme or Bachelor programme (for Bachelor Programme only Software Engineering, International Relations and Business and Economics) at the University of Gothenburg.
- You can only be eligible for the scholarship for the programme that is your first priority at the University of Gothenburg on 15 January 2024 in the international admission round at www.universityadmission.se.
- have submitted your application for studies by 15 January 2024 and paid the application fee and documented your eligibility for studies by 1 February 2024 through universityadmissions.se.
Application instructions:
Only applicants with a University of Gothenburg programme as their first choice are eligible to apply for a scholarship.
Eligible students will receive an email with application instructions around 8 February 2024.
