Program Objectives:
Educational Support: Support students in pursuing graduate studies at Iowa State University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Knowledge Leadership: Develop scientists who will become knowledge leaders residing and working in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the Borel Global Fellows Program, candidates must:
- Graduate Program Admission: Be admitted into a graduate program in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University.
- Citizenship: Be a citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country.
- Commitment to Food Security: Commit to completing graduate studies as preparation for a career contributing to food security in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Research Location: Complete the majority of their graduate research in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Post-Graduation Intention: Demonstrate an intention to work and live in Sub-Saharan Africa after completing graduate studies.
