The University of Leeds is offering a Research Assistant position in Food Science/Food Technology for a project funded by Innovate UK. This project, in collaboration with SPG Innovation and Baker Perkins, focuses on characterizing novel plant-based foods using innovative approaches in extrusion technology and alternative processing methods.
Tasks:
As a Research Assistant, your responsibilities will include liaising with industrial partners, conducting analyses of research samples through various techniques, preparing and analyzing extruded samples, maintaining communications related to research activities, organizing servicing, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and risk assessments.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- Experience in Food Science/Food Technology, particularly in protein characterization and plant-based nutrition.
- Background in research or academic administrative environment.
- BSc or MSc in a relevant subject.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
