Description:
The selected Industrial PhD Student will engage in a collaborative project between Uppsala University and AstraZeneca, Gothenburg.
Key responsibilities :
•include developing a drug delivery system targeting inflamed disease sites in the colon
• functionalizing drug-loaded nanoparticles with ligands for molecular targets
•utilizing click chemistry-based bioconjugation to control nanoparticle diffusion through the colonic mucus barrier.
Additionally, the candidate will study the transport of targeted nanoparticles in the colon using in vitro models and assess therapeutic efficacy in preclinical disease models of ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Pharmaceutics, Drug Discovery and Development, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in oral and written English communication.
- Previous laboratory experience, industrial exposure, and collaboration skills are advantageous.
