The Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) provides an exceptional opportunity for individuals from developing countries to pursue a master’s degree program in a development-related field. The program is open to both men and women who have relevant professional experience and a demonstrated commitment to supporting their countries’ development efforts.
Scholarship Details:
- The scholarship covers tuition fees, a monthly living stipend, round-trip airfare, health insurance, and travel allowance.
- It is applicable for the duration of the graduate program or two years, whichever is less.
Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the JJ/WBGSP scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a national of a World Bank member country.
- Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country.
- Not be an affiliate with the World Bank Group as an Executive Director, staff member, or close relative of any staff member.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree earned at least 3 years prior to the Application Deadline date.
- Possess 3 years or more of recent development-related work experience after earning a Bachelor’s degree.
- Be employed in a full-time paid position related to development work at the time of submitting the scholarship application.
- Have received unconditional admission to at least one of the JJ/WBGSP participating master’s programs located outside of their country of citizenship and residence.
Application Process:
- Applicants must first apply and receive unconditional acceptance to at least one of the Participating Programs.
- The application must include an unconditional letter of acceptance from a participating master’s degree program.
- Submit applications online during two application windows:
- Application Window #1: From 15 January 2024 to 29 February 2024.
- Application Window #2: From 25 March 2024 to 24 May 2024.
