University of Natural Resources – The Department of Sustainable Agricultural Systems at the Institute of Organic Farming is currently inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. This position entails a workload of 40 hours per week.
Duration: From April 1st, 2024, to March 31st, 2026.
Location: 1180 Vienna, Gregor-Mendel-Straße 33.
Salary: Gross monthly salary according to the collective agreement for university staff (payable 14 times per year): B1 lit. b, €4,752.30.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in ongoing research projects in the Working Group Soil Fertility and Cultivation Systems at the Institute of Organic Farming.
- Conduct independent and collaborative teaching and research on soil fertility and cultivation systems in organic agriculture.
- Supervise or co-supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses and dissertations.
- Submit national and international research projects.
- Contribute to the administration of the department and the institute.
- Represent the working group in committees and networks.
- Participate in BOKU’s Third Mission.
- Perform data analysis and contribute to publications.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree/PhD in a discipline related to soil fertility/cropping systems with a focus on/relevance to organic farming.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken German and English.
- Substantial scientific professional experience at the postdoc level.
- Strong knowledge and experience in the field of soil science and/or plant production in organic farming.
- Demonstrated evidence of scientific publications (journals, book chapters, etc.).
- Experience in presenting research findings, especially in a scientific context.
- Experience in conducting research projects nationally and internationally.
- Valid driver’s license class B.
