University of Essex Scholarship Program Details
The University of Essex Scholarship is available to international students from a member state of the African Union who are self-funding their undergraduate studies. Eligible candidates may receive a scholarship award of £4,000, which will be provided as a discount on their first year’s tuition fee.
The University will automatically consider applicants meeting all eligibility criteria for this award without requiring them to complete an application form. The University will assess eligibility based on the applicant’s country of domicile and fee status indicated on their application for admission to Essex.
Eligibility Requirements for University of Essex Scholarship Program
To be considered for the University of Essex Scholarship:
- Applicants must be overseas fee payers and entirely self-funded.
- Students must be ordinarily resident in a member country of the African Union.
- Students must enroll for the first year (Year 1) of a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Essex in October 2024-25.
- UCAS applicants must select Essex as their firm choice by 12 July 2024. Applicants who become firm with Essex due to rejection by their original firm choice selection elsewhere are ineligible. Direct applicants must accept their offer by 12 July 2024.
- Applicants cannot combine the award with any other scholarships offered by the University of Essex.
- This scholarship is available only for the first year of study (Year1) at the undergraduate level in 2024-25.
- Successful applicants should be available for promotional activities.
- Students who fund their studies through a repayable loan will be considered self-funded.
- Courses leading to the award of a Diploma of Higher Education, Bachelor’s Degree, or Integrated Masters (four years) are eligible.
