The Federal Ministry of Education, Nigeria, has announced the Federal Government Scholarship Award as a fully-funded opportunity for Nigerian undergraduate and postgraduate students. This award is open to students enrolled in Nigerian public or private universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The FSB scholarship provides a renewable cash award of N250,000 per annum to all selected applicants, regardless of their background or religion.

Federal Government Scholarship Details
The Honorable Minister of Education (HME), Prof. Maman Tahir, invites interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the 2023/2024 Nomination Computer Based Test (CBT) for the Federal Government Scholarship Award.
The Federal Scholarship Board ensures that deserving Nigerian Scholars are awarded foreign and local scholarships, fulfilling commitments to Multilateral Education Agreements, Education Bursary Awards, and Bilateral Education Agreements (BEA).
Federal Government Scholarship Requirements
To be eligible for the Federal Government Scholarship Award, candidates must:
- Be registered full-time students of Federal or State Universities.
- Possess a minimum of a first degree with Second Class Honours Division (for postgraduate students).
- Be registered full-time students in their second year or above in Federal or State Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges of Education.
- Have a minimum Cumulative Grade Points Aggregate (CGPA) of 4.0 on a five-point scale or its equivalent, or 5.0 on a seven-point scale (for UG, HND & NCE).
- Have a CGPA of 3.5 and above on a scale of 4.0 (for NCE/HND Applicants).
- Not hold the scholarship simultaneously with another Award nor for part-time studies.
- Not change course or institution while enjoying the award.
Federal Government Scholarship Duration and Reward
The scholarship is tenable in Nigeria and takes effect from the beginning of the academic session.
Undergraduate Scholars: N250,000 per annum; Postgraduate Scholars: N300,000 per annum; HND: N150,000 per annum; NCE: N150,000 per annum.
