The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship is based on educational agreements between Hungary and various governments across five continents, involving over 90 countries. This program offers international students more than 1,200 full-degree programs in a range of fields, including humanities, sciences, and technical disciplines, at all degree levels.
Eligibility Criteria for the 2025 Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship
To qualify for the 2025 Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be citizens of eligible countries (except for Hungarian citizens or dual nationals).
- Be at least 18 years old by August 31, 2025.
- Not currently be studying in Hungary on a self-funded basis.
- Have not previously received this scholarship.
2025 Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Benefits
For Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Non-Degree Programs:
- Tuition Waiver: Full exemption from tuition fees.
- Monthly Stipend: HUF 43,700 (approx. EUR 110) to help with living expenses in Hungary.
- Accommodation Support: Free dormitory place or HUF 40,000/month contribution toward private housing costs.
- Medical Insurance: Full coverage under Hungarian national health insurance and up to HUF 65,000 (approx. EUR 170) in supplemental insurance.
For Doctoral Programs:
- Tuition Waiver: Full exemption from tuition fees.
- Monthly Stipend: HUF 140,000 (approx. EUR 365) during the first four semesters and HUF 180,000 (approx. EUR 470) for the second four semesters.
- Accommodation Support: Similar to undergraduate and Master’s students.
